Engaged Communities Canada Society

ECCS aims to address the systemic gaps that exist for underserved communities across British Columbia's lower mainland region in accessing equitable solutions to complex health challenges. Our efforts are targeted to the community’s most vulnerable, including IBPoC populations, those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, children and youth, and individuals experiencing challenges related to socioeconomic factors and addiction.

Our primary activities include the delivery of food, hygiene supplies, personal hygiene services, personal protective equipment, overdose prevention education and resources, and youth programming (academic assistance, mentorship, athletics, and outdoor adventures) to communities in greatest need. We also provide young adults with opportunities to work alongside youth in a manner that supports their academic and professional pursuits. Throughout our efforts, we strive to create a safe space for all community members to engage with unique and interesting programming as they require.

Our services are provided at no cost to eliminate the financial barriers associated with accessing such programming. For this reason, we rely on volunteers and donations to deliver our programs. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are experiencing an increase in demand for our services and thus are seeking funding opportunities to expand our existing programs and to create new services to meet the needs of the populations we serve.
