BC Feed the Kids

Did you know that159,570 children and youth live under the poverty line in BC? This staggering number means that 1 in 5 children are living in poverty in our province. Sadly, many families that are struggling to afford to survive go without nutritious food. So many children are coming to school hungry, likely more than we know, and need the support of food programs to help them thrive.

BC Feed the Kids currently focuses on three main areas of support. The Snack Attack program supplies nutritious snacks to schools to help fill the current food gaps identified in food supports. The Hot Lunch Program provides funding to cover the cost of hot lunches for students who are not financially able to partake. Fueling Minds covers the extra costs that families may not be able to afford; this includes activities and supplies such as field trips, extracurricular activities and the supplies needed (i.e. musical instruments, registration fees, sports equipment & school supplies).

We would love your support to fill tummies and fuel minds so every kid can thrive!
